In case you guys haven't seen it, Mike Gentry's been actually writing his hobo game, Hard Travellin' (http://www.edromia.com/games/hobo/index.html). A long time ago, it had a different name, and used Fudge, and rocked mightily.
A few days ago, he renamed it, restarted it, and lo and behold, it's based off of the Pool.
Now that is cool.
James, you may have an engine for open gaming design that could be the strongest yet. Have you considered putting up a contract-type thing on your site, to manage this and make sure that people who use The Pool are giving you proper credit?
Check out all the Fudge material to see how they do it.
Best,
Ron
I agree. This is really cool. As a former legal eagle, James, I'd be happy to offer some input on open source language.
Best,
Blake
Damn...Hard Travellin' kicks ass.
How come no one ever contacts me about these things? *sigh* I suppose that means I should pay more friggin' attention, huh?
So, about the "legal jargon"....seems like The Pool would be a likely candidate for a Fudge-style open-ness (since it isn't anything more than a system anyway, right?).
Blake, shoot me an email. I'd love to pick your brain.
