Title: one small step, one giant leap
Post by: Matt Wilson on September 23, 2002, 10:55:02 AM
I haven't played Donjon yet, so you can call me for posting out my ass, but from everything I've read on the Forge and other places, the game deserves yet another cool point.

It looks to me to be a great "baby step," as it were, away from games like D&D, and on to trying the indie games one finds here.

I'm just imagining the example guy from Ron's article looking at Sorcerer and getting freaked out because "there's like only 4 stats. How can a game be good without a detailed skill list?"  But the same guy sees Donjon, and okay, there's six attributes, that's familiar, and okay, there's skills, and flesh wounds, that's probably like hit points...

Whether or not that was your intention, Clinton, I think it might do good things. Maybe it's actually been discussed to death. If nothing else, that train of thought gave me some ideas of my own.

Matt,

That was indeed part of the point. I hope it works out that way.

Title: Mr. T reference?

So I downloaded it yesterday, and noticed what I hope is a Mr. T cartoon reference on page 56. Extra cool points if that's the case.
