Title: Soap is out, but is it good?
Post by: Ferry Bazelmans on November 06, 2002, 02:36:34 PM
Hi there,

I recently put out my game Soap as a 31-page PDF file (I'd say about 23 pages of pure content, 3 ads, cover, introduction, dedication, toc and credits).

If you've bought it, let me know what you think of the new rules. The most obvious change is that the suprastructure of scenes has been cut from the game. I think it needlessly complicated a game that should run like a train wreck: fast, furious and metal everywhere. (?) Instead, the game introduces the 3 W's: Where, What & Words. Each sentence will read like a line from a script with the player explaining where the action is taking place, what the action is and what characters are saying.

This essentially fills the gap scenes left when I dropped them, by providing some unifying structure to the game, without making it too complex.

Thoughts?
