Many of you allready know this from another thread, but I thought it deserved it's own thread...
Of Beasts and Men, the first official TROS supplement is available for purchase in either PDF format ($15) or Print format with the PDF as a limited free bonus ($25). Shipping on all Driftwood Products (okay, so that's two books) is also free currently. Go to www.theriddleofsteel.net/market for more.

I'm going to have to wait until august 1st to buy it. Hold on til then! :)
well ill be ordoring mine today (hahaha)......yea anyway. Btw, which new supplement will be coming out first, Sorcery & Fey or TFOB or something else?
When will PDF distribution begin?
PDF distribution begins as soon as I can get it worked out with the forge bookshelf, meaning it could be today.
TFOB is my personal next project, though it may take a long time...I'm considering releasing it as several smaller PDFs as I finish them, then putting it all into a nice print book when that's done.
jake
Is OBAM going to be PDF only?
sorry if i missed it elsewhere..
disregard my last post,
I'm a dumbass.
i just ordered OBAM a few minutes ago. will i recieve the PDF by email or what and when can i expect it?

Jake,
Will you be looking for contributors for TFoB?
I'm waiting for confirmation and set up on the Forge Bookshelf. Once that's up the book will be available. It should be friday.

The 'article' system has worked very well for Harn, although for sme reason they've never done pdfs. Making TFoB several stand-alone sections would speed it to the gamers, keeping interest alive, and insure a steady source of income.
My thoughts, too. Plus it would allow 2 neat things:
1) We could revise and perfect as people play, and provided the updated the PDF to "subscribers" for free.
2) What you said.
Jake
Well, I bought it last night. Had to make sure I didn't miss out on the brief window of "printed book" opportunity. Been there done that before, missed out on some possibly great games as a result. :(
What is "TFOB"? I understand "Sorcery and Fey" but I can't parse what the letters "TFOB" are supposed to mean.
The Flower of Battle. Expanding on combat, basically, mass combat, etc. :)
Hey Jake, where's this Forge Bookself that you talk about the pdf OBaM will be set up on? Does it have something to do with the Articles (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/articles/) area or the Resource Library (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/resources/) that's at the top of The Forge (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/index.php) website?
Question Jake,
I just got the OBAM password in my email and downloaded the zip file of it but it says i need Microsoft Picture It! Publishing installed in order to view it and i dont have that program. is there any place i can download it from or get around that? otherwise i cant read OBAM without it.
Thanks,
SMB
OBAM is now available for download. It's 16 MB, with bookmarks, thumbnails, and both front and back covers in color. After you order your PDF copy you will be notified in the email how to access the Forge Bookshelf, where you (may) need to register yourself. You can then download OBAM to your computer. If for some reason you lose the file, you can download it again.

Um...
I don't know anything about that. It's a PDF. You should be able to view it on any version of Adobe acrobat later than 3 once you unzip it. Um...I'll contact Clinton R. Nixon, who hosts the Bookshelf.
Jake
When i downloaded the file it was not even a PDF file at all....
Has anyone else has this problem? Clinton and I are thinking that it may be a problem with your Acrobat software or some other aspect of your computer. Have you tried re-installing Acrobat reader? Get the newest version from www.adobe.com
jake
I just downloaded it myself. It comes as a zip file with the PDF inside.
Jeez.. everyone's getting their copies and *I* haven't even seen it yet... :-)
Brian.
Message deleted because I can be such a nonce sometimes...
Jake
I've not heard from you yet about the cost of international shipping to the UK for OBAM. I appreciate this might not be possible yet (or that you may not have been able to reply because you are just be as incredibly busy as you usually are!) so I'm willing to settle for the PDF (for now) if that is the case.
Please could you let me know?
Regards
Harry
Works like a charm for me. Thanks for putting this out, Jake.

ok i got the problem fixed so now its fine. some screw up where my computer read the file wrong. anyway thanks for the help.
Is OBaM hardcover or softcover? The description doesn't say. Also, if I order the print book, will I be able to download the pdf immediately?
Softcover. If you order the print, you do get the download immediately (well, as soon as I authorize the download, which is close to immediately)

Hey - do you sign copies? If I got one, how difficult would that be to arrange?
Probably not that hard for you, yeah.
I knew it was you :-)
Brian.
The copies are in. If all goes well at Gencon we'll be doing a second printing allready! Yay us!
Anyway, they look great. You all won't be dissapointed. They'll be shipping Monday the 28th.
Jake
Will we be seeing printed copies in game stores anytime?

Now that's just sweet.
Brian.
Print copies are currently sold out. We'll get more out, though. The PDF is still available.
Jake
Hooray Driftwood!
I take it that means gencon went well?
How does this affect those of us who ordered it online (not as PDF)? Will we need to wait for the second printing or will we be getting ours within the next week or so?
I believe I have enough copies to fufill all orders. If you ordered while I was at Gen Con, you may have to wait a little longer, but not much.
Jake
Will DragonsKeep be getting any printed copies of OBAM?
Jake - I'm ready to order a print version NOW. Is there any way you could set up a pre-purchase where people could get the download right away and the print version when it becomes available? This might also offer you a way to guage print run size...
Thanks,
Jason
Jason-
That's certainly a possibility. I'm currently trying to figure out how aggressively I want to go into distribution with the game.
Jake
Were there any print copies left after Gencon?
Nothing. We sold every last copy. In fact, most of the comp copies for artists and what not are coming out of the second printing. We also have several european orders to fill yet. Yikes! We'll be arranging the second printing later this week, and the new books should ship by the end of next week.
Jake
whew! :)

I just bought TROS yesterday, and would be another one that would want to preorder a print copy of OBAM. pdf's are a great option, but I want to something I can make a stack out of. ;)
Cheers,
Christopher
I just purchased the pdf yesterday as there was no option to buy the print copy. Is there an option of an "upgrade" if I want (which I really do) the hard copy. I'm willing to pay for a "real" copy and would have, there just wasn't that option, even as a "preorder" or what have you..
cheers

Jason-
We'll have something up shortly. I will be discounting the print version somewhat to people that ordered the PDF in the interim. Contact me by email if you want the discounted price and allready ordered the PDF.
Jake
Thanks! No wonder you win awards for support!
Actually it's because I'm a bully.
