Hello all.

As there are a bunch of people interested in writing a new rpg from scratch as a group, I thought that some might be interested in something a little less ambitious.

Ancient Awakenings have suggested a collaberation of small independant publishers on a d20 futures suppliment / something. I have put my hand up as interested, and we are starting a brainstorm over the weekend as to what format and content the submission will be. Here is what they have set up for anyone interested:

QuoteAll right, I'm setting up an area for design and development.

All publishers have to do to get in is:
1. Go to www.ancient-awakenings.com
2. Register as a new user.
3. Post a message in the 'Gaming Discussion' forum with your login name, company you work for/own, and a weblink to it.

I will then add you to a 'Collaborators' group that will give access to 4 private forums.

Chit-Chat: General discussion of the project.
Development: Overall design and development discussion.
Documents: Document and editing forum.
Art: Artwork and graphic design.

We will have upload and download capabilities for documents and art, and I will consider any anything further we need as I become aware of it.

So if you don't hate d20, and have a yearning to write something interesting setting or character related, please join in.

Warm regards,
Evan

What direction is the collaboration going in, if any?

PlotDevice

We have yet to start the brainstorm on specifics. I think the base idea is that we are going to put out a product at the end, probably for PDF sale on rpgnow. Putting together a whole world / universe book is too much of  job for any one person, so we are gathering many hands to plan and make light of the work.

So the short answer is that the direction is yet to be formalized, but give us a few days, and we shall see.

Thor

one of the things that you might try is to set up a wiki to gather all of the accumulated data. Those people who like doing that kind of stuff would enjoy the shaping of worlds and background and because there would be several of them the world would be full of charming inconsistancies.
