Ok Ink Blot Publishing aside from wanting to publish our own material is looking to publish other peoples material for them. Now what we are thinking is IBP will set your book up with a printing press get an ISBN number and all that for the writer as well as put it in our product catalog for distributors. The only thing that the writer has to do is push their book marketing wise we handle all the paper work and stuff.
Now the question is what is a reasonable royalty rate for the company to make on the net profits? So far we have gotten a couple people saying 50% for writer and company is good enough but I figured I might as well bring it up here as well.

Are you talking about just fronting printing costs (+ the ISBN & catalog deal), or are you talking about doing all the production work (layout, illustrations, etc.)?

Layout, illustrations every thing, they could do these things if they wanted. After the book is printed, we would also handle all business transactions.
So it goes like this.

Long story short, the book becomes the companies in exchange we are putting it into print for them handling all the messy stuff they may not want to. We do however leave the actually growth of the books popularity in the hands of the writer. It's more for people who really want their stuff out there but don't feel like doing to much work.
