This isn't an announcement website.

Please indicate some reason why this is important or specifically relevant to independent role-playing games. Otherwise I'll be forced to move this thread to the Inactive File.

Hi-

I was just trying to let gamers in the Atlanta, Georgia area know that there is a place available to them for all kinds of gaming including the independent role playing games.  Is there another forum I should be posting this too?  Thanks!

The Forge isn't a general-announcement site. I do understand that your motives are genuine and that you intended no harm, but that's not the issue. There are other sites for posting "come one, come all," but this one is more focused on a specific purpose.

There is one bit of hope in your post. You state "including independent games." Does that mean that one of the organizers is planning something specifically aimed in this direction? If so, what is it? What games? Are there any publishers of independent games, or perhaps regular players of them, among the organizers?

If not, then basically, you're trolling - posting blindly at the Forge in the sense of scooping up a couple of more fish in the net. Or splatting an infomercial into our activities here, hoping for more eyeballs. "Advertise at all the gaming sites! Here's another one!"

I hope you see that I'm trying to work with you. Your first post could well have been sent to the Inactive File based on its content. I think game nights are great things and I think stores which promote them are good stores. I'm giving you the chance to make your initially-unacceptable post into a decent thread.

Don't tell me what you "were just" trying to do. Work with me back. Help yourself by explaining anything that makes your game night specifically important to the player and publisher of independent games.

Best, Ron
