Know of Any Midwestern Conventions?

Hello all!  Now that the dust has settled from GenCon, I'm trying to put together my marketing calender for this coming year.  One of my goals is to try and get to more conventions to run events/sell.  Anyone know of some conventions coming up this fall, winter, or spring that might be accessible for a guy living in the Midwest?  I live in Indiana, but wouldn't mind traveling to the surrounding states, especially if a convention is well attended, or if it offers some great value for booth space, etc.  I've also been considering trying to get a round to selling at festivals (my product is a Victorian Era RPG, and I was toying with trying to sell at Civil War Reenactment festivals) -has anyone had experience with this?  Was it worth it?  Thanks

In November, Pittsburgh has GASPcon. I've tried to attract a bigger indie presence there this year, and I think we've done pretty well. You've got three days of gaming, and at least one indie or story game in almost every slot, including Don't Rest Your Head (at midnight), Mouse Guard, In a Wicked Age, 3:16, and the star of the indie showing, Bill White running Ganakagok.

I've made the trip across Ohio from Pittsburgh to Indiana myself; a good audio book, and it goes pretty quick. You'll have to assess those travels costs for yourself, of course, but I hope you'll consider coming out!

Hiya,

Forge Midwest seems to be pretty well established now after four years. Madison (WI) has turned out to be an excellent venue. As for when, I can say for sure that not Easter weekend again is a good bet, but sometime around then.

It's not much of a sales convention in the traditional marketplace sense, but if you do move a few copies, they'll probably be going to be people who will play the game and post about it.

Best, Ron
