Indy RPG Anthology?: "Death to D20"

Hey folks,

I was just browsing the vast sea of goodness that is the indy-rpg community when I thought:

Wouldn't it be cool to do a yearly/quarterly indy-rpg anthology, completely designed, written, edited, and illustrated by indy-rpg people?

Here's the image in my mind: a quarterly PDF document sold on the various websites of the contributers (and/or places like RPGnow), packed full of indy-rpg goodness and perhaps even edited by Ron or emblazoned with "The Forge Presents..."  Money from any purchases would go back to whoever's site you bought it from or could be donated to a cause like the CBLDF (Comic Book Legal Defense Fund).  Ideally, it would be called something delightfully defiant, so the name "Death to D20" immediately appealed to me (with maybe a 20-sided die representing "D20" in the logo, so we don't get sued).

Hey, I would certainly buy a copy every quarter, especially if the magazine was specifically focused on unpublished material and stuff that was particularly innovative and/or strange.  Also, it would give an avenue for the indy-community to come together and submit work for a group publication.

There's so many great games out there that deserve to be put out for people to play and steal ideas from.  The RPG community is completely incestuous, after all.  We live and breathe thanks to the cross-pollenation of cool roleplaying concepts.  So maybe we should try to be good little bees and spread the pollen around...

Oh yeah.  And I got dibs on doing the design work :)

So does this sound plausible to anyone?  Would people be willing to submit unpublished games for editing and inclusion in the anthology (with the rule that you could still publish your own game material in whatever fashion you wanted)?  Am I talking to myself?

Later.

Hi there,

It's been discussed, most recently in Best of the Forge?. Check out that thread and see if you have any suggestions.

Best,

I would sooo love to contribute to something like this.  Split the take up between all the contributors, and set a portion aside for support of The Forge, and maybe a small contingency fund.  Of course...someone would need to be responsible (ultimately) for producing it, and I suppose they should get a share too......
