Here's Daniel Coffin's RPGnet post about his first town: dogs in the vineyard: saint's rest (my players, get lost).

I'm pointing to it because the town hits me, as I say, in the belly.

the glyphpress's games are Shock: Social Science Fiction and Under the Bed.

I design books like Dogs in the Vineyard and The Mountain Witch.

Here's Daniel's play writeup.

Kids? His Dogs made the thief the new Steward.

Wow.  Reading along it made perfect sense, but I'd never have expected it.

I noticed that he did the NPCs up ahead of time, rather than mushing proto-NPCs into form at the moment.  Do you think that's a plus-- he had an vision of the NPCs, so why not stat them out early?  It sounds like it worked out fine.

And I agree with the posters in those threads-- Paka and Daniel run (and write up) impressive games.
