Quote from: TobiasI say - F that.

Leave it as it is, make a single page summary cheat-sheet with all the rules people need to play, leave out the fluff but debug it, say "we're playing the cheat-sheet, for explanation of terms see the bigger text."

Here's a 3-page summary of the rules. I think it contains every single mechanic needed for the game, including several rules revisions from the original documents.

Anyone interested in the next step, please read this and tell me if it makes enough sense to play from. Post here with comments, and also say if you're interested in playtesting.

I'll do any necessary revisions and PM/email prospective playtesters.

Thanks,

Doug

It makes sense to me - but I read the whole document. I think it will work.

you have half a page left over. I'd say - mention a good starting difficulty to get people started, give one or 2 examples, and you're all set.

I'll playtest, of course!

Actually, we need to playtest to find out what a suitable Difficulty is, as it's rather complex. I think the main starting strategy will be to do low Difficulty 'runs' to build up some Momentum early on as an insurance policy.

I may put up an example later, as the one from the rulebook is now dated, but for the first playtest I expect to talk people through it (I'd like to do this by IRC if we can get over the time difference thing.)

I don't think coordinating time zones should be too hard. Sydney and I are in the same time zone (GMT -4, I believe). Tobias is probably GMT +2 or so. Doug, you're what, GMT +1? So we've only got a six hour gap there. If we do it on a weekend when everyone's free, it shouldn't be a problem -- Sydney and I sign on in the morning, you and Tobias sign on in the evening.

No sweat at all, if you'll give me time to move to my new appartment first (read: the first 2 upcoming weekends are off. :( )
