I tried doing some searching for previous threads and didn't find anything that answered my questions, so....

What do we know about box sets? In my experience there are typically two sizes, the size used for games like basic D+D, Gamma World, Star Frontiers, etc and the smaller boxes used for games like Munchkin or many other Steve Jackson games. Who makes these? What do they tend to cost? Are there different considerations that need to be made towards art? Does using them for a Roleplaying game have any noticeable effect on sales? Are they liked more or less by retailers? Anything else?

Custom boxes are expensive to make. Call up your friendly local box-making/packaging company and get a list of standard sizes. Make your game fit one of those sizes. Great God Google will answer all of your other questions.

The term "set-up box" or "setup box" should yield some good information.  Let us know what you find out.
