(forum bug?) I've got phantom PMs

This shows up at the top of the forum page for me:

Hey, ldd23, you have 2 messages, 2 are new.

But when I click on the "2 messages" link to look at my PMs, it says I have no messages.

Back in July '06 there was PM spam that hit everyone here. Clinton performed some magic to delete those two messages. My understanding is that if you never looked at them, the board still treats them as "new". I don't know if there is a way to clear that.
