Question about increasing proficiencies?

Maybe I missed it in the book, but is there anyway in the book to increase proficiencies after character creation?  I see how to improve attributes and skills, but I can't find anything on proficiencies.

Page 68.  Proficiencies can only be improved by spending spiritual attributes, coupled with the requsite training.
