I am being driven slowly mad because I can't remember the name of this game that I played a few months ago.  I'm hoping y'all can identify it for me.

It's a kind of a cross between a card game, a war game, and an RPG.  Each player gets a few (2-5) cards representing characters.  Some are historical like Annie Oakely, Geronimo, or Alexander the Great.  Others are generic archetypes like some guy who is a stereotypical hard boiled private eye, or a standard cyberpunk kid.  Some are monsters from pre-history or aliens from the far future.

You basically fight it out using these characters in an arena made up of geomorphic maps which you set up randomly before play.  The goal is to get to these little mazes which have towers with gates in them where your characters are presented with various challenges.  If you win the challenges you get items, like a .44 pistol, or a mountain bike, or hand grenades.

What is this game!!!?

Any help would be appreciated

It's a new game that came out recently, right?  If we're on the same page, I played a demo of it at Origins.  I can't remember the name either.  Great.  Now I'm going crazy too... :)
