At least two fellow publishers have asked me if I plan to attend genCon SoCal, since I'm on the West Coast and, well, so is it. I'm tempted to be apalled by the very idea, but I would probably have a lot of fun at the convention. What I'd like to know if how much it will cost me to get into the convention, get from portland to wheverever it is, and lodge myself (although I am hoping to have roommates, I'm not going to count on them).

I've given up on Indy for the year, especially since I have toehr more pressing needs at the moment.

Is GenCon SoCal even worth going to, anyway? Or is it a delusional exercise and would I be better off restricting myself to thelocal and Bay  Area cons for 2004 and 2005? is GenCon SoCal even going to happen (my understanding is that the 20903 version wasn't that successful, and the current management has canceled unprofitable conventions before)?

Michael, you need to consider the content of your threads more carefully. None of these inquiries should be brought here.

All of this information is easily available from the airlines, bus companies, and other commercial means of transport.

That is a decision only you can make. Either you're looking for an excuse (our advice) for not going, or you're looking for support and encouragement for you to go. Neither of these can be given to you or to anyone at this site.

The only reliable and appropriate source for this information is the GenCon LLC website.

Ron
