Hi all,

So when a demon confers "User" on someone, does he have to touch that person? Or be within a meter, or more?

Hi Alan,

Fucking meters. I wish I'd never mentioned them.

Look at it this way: the demon has to be "there," which is to say, in the scene, within range of interaction of other kinds, and with the demon's attention including the individual to be given the ability, then it can be done.

If there are any circumstances which make this problematic, such as a hostile foe between them or something like that, or your aesthetic judgment based on how sorcery/demonics is customized in the game, then get a roll in there to resolve it.

Best,
Ron

Okay, so it's again an issue of descriptive content.  A rule of thumb might be: if they could talk easily, the demon can confer Usership.  Thought this might be customized when the abilty is bought.

From your comment about meters, I also wonder if Ranged powers should be treated similarly, with no particular range (ie Power in Meters).  The same might apply to duration.

I was skimming old threads and found Jase or Ralph's suggestion that duration just be a dice contest to see if the power endures through a crucial interaction.  I wonder if range might be handled that way too?  Not sure how.

I've already started to think of abilities like Armor, Big, and Cloak, as having a duration of "One Conflict."  (With Fatigue generally incured only when activated.)
