, has asked me to extend an invitation to the Forge community. It seems that she runs Genghis Con. And although the exhibitor area is sold out, there is still room in the program booklet for advertisements. And she believes there's benefit from exposing indie games Genghis Con attendees.
She indicates that they "take product in trade for advertising at the 'standard rate' at full MSRP," and suggests that several publishers could even combine together for one ad. She explains that product taken in trade is used as prize support for tournaments, and is sometimes also given to volunteers who've run a lot of games, although "these guys usually are our Alpha Gamers, they tend to use it to evangelize."

What better way to welcome in the beginning of the game convention season than by attending Genghis Con XXVI along with 1400+ fellow gamers! As a manufacturer, exhibitor or retailer, Genghis Con has something to offer you. Our exhibition hall is the focal point of this three day event with broad exposure to retailers and consumers alike. If you are unable to take a booth space then you should consider advertising in our convention program. Inside this packet you will find all the information you need to prepare for Genghis Con XXVI from booth rental information to the program advertising schedule.
Advertising Rates:
Reach gaming enthusiasts throughout the Rocky Mountain Region by advertising in the Genghis Con XXVI Convention Program! We have several ad sizes available.
Size Standard Alternate ($/Gift Certificates)
Full Page Interior 7" x 9" $120 $75/$75
Half Page 4.5" x 7" $80 $60/$60
We do take product in trade at the Standard Payment Rate.
Advertising Deadline is November 20, 2004
Reservations for specific placement can be made by calling Heather Barnhorst at (720) 261-2942. All Cover positions are already reserved.
Format Requirements:
1) Final ad hard copy printed on a laser printer (for solid black & white only). Mail to: Andy Gipe, 703 Manitou Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80904
2) Digital file in .pdf, .eps, .tif or .jpg format. Mail to above or e-mail to:
andyg@ppiba.org
3) Any other format must be approved by Andy Gipe at (719) 659-3930 prior to submission.
All artwork and disks will become the sole property of the DGA and will not be returned. Artwork should be provided exactly as it should appear in the program, properly sized and requiring no further layout work. If you have any questions about your ad, please contact Andy Gipe or Heather Barnhorst (see contact info above). All ad space must be prepaid unless other arrangements have been made. Please make checks payable to the Denver Gamers Association (DGA).
Event Sponsorship:
Premium name placement and Running sponsored events at Genghis Con is an excellent way to expose the gaming public to your product. Genghis Con offers several sponsorship methods to help you reach your customers, both retailers and consumers! This convention is the largest event between
Kansas City and San Francisco, attracting over 1400 gamers from Colorado as well as Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas and Nebraska! Not only is this a fantastic opportunity for you, but your additional support as a sponsor is always appreciated by us!
TOURNAMENT SPONSORSHIP: Send copies of the games of your choice and prize certificates. The knowledgeable DGA staff will produce the event for you. Please indicate if the event(s) should be run as a demonstration(s) or tournament(s). Any certificates and or merchandise provided will be awarded
to tournament event winners.
CONVENTION SPONSORSHIP: Donate certificates, services, or merchandise that can be awarded as prizes to convention participants.
CHARITY SPONSORSHIPS: Each convention, the DGA holds a special benefit event for local charities. Send your merchandise to be auctioned off at our Charity Benefit Auctions and be mentioned as a special sponsor.
