Hey, all!

We're starting to pull things together for DEXCON 8, July 13-17 in East Brunswick, NJ, and I'm really looking forward to having a strong Indie presence again.  I've staked out a place on C-Deck for you (the level between the Lobby and where you were last time), outside the room where many of the RPGs are scheduled to be played.  While it isn't as high-profile a spot as you had for Dreamation, it's very visible from the Lobby, is right by the cafe and is the halfway point for the escalators.  I think you guys could do a lot with the space, including banners to catch the eyes of people on their way into the hotel.  I'd give you the same spot again, but you'd be right by videogames and it would be LOUD.  Especially when the DDR tournament rounds happen.  And while it does draw a crowd to that spot, I'm just not sure it would be the kind of crowd you could use well.  If you as a group want it anyway, it's yours.  :-)

As always, we'll give you free memberships and will feed you for the entire event.  Vinny's also again authorized a suite for you.  It may not be enough room for everyone who comes (and yes, unfortunately the king bed setup is a little inconvenient), but it would certainly eat into your rooming costs.  If as a group you took one or two rooms to supplement and split the cost among everyone, it would end up pretty cheap rooming as a whole.  And, of course, we'd love to have you host a party in the suite.  As before, we'd seed it with munchies and soda.

Tony was kind enough to set up boards for the Indie Explosion at DEXCON 8, at www.museoffire.com/forum/index.php .  We'll do most of the planning there, so we're not clogging up here.  And as before, I'll be sending out more personalized emails shortly to you all, to make certain I'm not missing anyone seeing the invitation.  We really would love to see as many of you there as possible.  Feel free to email, PM or call (my phone number will be on the emailed invites), and let me know what you all need, to make this a great event for all the Forge-affiliated designers!

In the aftermath of Ubercon, folks were talking about how useful it would be to have some panels, and get good high-level discussion going at a con.  I think Dexcon would be a great place, if folks want to discuss that on the IGE2 forums.

Bump.

If I've forgotten or neglected to email anyone, and you are interested in joining us there this summer, please touch base with me soon.  Lord knows I'm far from infallible.  :-)  I'm sure I've missed some people.

This is on my schedule, summer vacations allowing (my summer is pretty booked given both Origins and GenCon are on the list this year).

Vinny is pulling the event schedule together now, so we'll need the Indie schedule real soon so that we can put it all together.  :-)  If there's any questions, of course please feel free to ask.

Understood.  I'll have a preliminary schedule worked up by monday.  People who haven't already posted their desires on the dedicated forum should post here (or PM me, preferably) with how many slots they want to run, and of what.
