Hey, :)

Ok, we had another session of Heritage, last night, with the added plus that an extra friend popped in to look at the game. We decided it would be fun to give her a guest star.

Here's how we worked it:

A) Guest stars have a screen presence of 0 and no traits.

B) Guest stars can award and/or earn fan mail, and they get a place in the scene-calling rotation, just like any other player. Guest stars should call their scenes last, after all the other players have called for at least one scene.

C) In conflicts between the guest star and the protagonists, the Producer spends budget to give dice to the guest star. The guest star's player gets her say as to the stakes, just as any other player would. The guest star cannot spend fan mail on these rolls.

D) In conflicts between the guest star and an NPC/Producer, the guest star can only spend fan mail.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

J.

Hey J. Sorry I never responded to this.

Looks like a good house rule. I'll keep it in mind for revisions.

That's just really cool. Adds a whole nother facet to the game's flexibility. You could also have rules for when "the actor has to take a leave and misses an episode." That is, when a player doesn't show to play. Rules like this really make a game more bulletproof when it comes to attendance variances.
