Paper Teetotums (split)

Okay, here's a quick example I was able to make by tracing the "droidel" found at
http://www.starwars.com/kids/activity/crafts/f20051216/index.html
.
I'll try to whip up some practical examples and different side numbers later.

Shreyas, you could also have the top two values expressed. E.g. Environment = (swamp, jungle, forest, meadow, river), so you could end up rolling swamp, jungle or river, swamp, both of which make sense together.
Well, you'd technically need an odd amount of sides for this to work, but I like the idea.
It for some reason reminds me of the 5 colours in Magic:The Gathering. On the backs of the cards are shown the five colours in a ring. Each colour is by its traditional 2 colour allies. (White is next to green and blue, and green is next to white and red, etc, etc.)
The 2 (if odd) or 3 (if even) sides facing up could all be taken into account for something. For example, if it were a 5 sided dreidel, if Swamp and Valley were facing up it would immediately give you a solid environment.
This could also be used for thematic elements of NPCs, for example. If Violent and Confused show up together, you have a very solid starting point already.

Hello,
The above two posts were split from
Dice mechanics: printable paper teetotums ... really
. The edit in the first post above was to change the title.
Everyone please review the site rules for how to post and how to continue discussions from older threads.
Joe, when someone stumbles a bit with the site rules, the very worst thing you can do is compound it by posting in reply. It sends a terrible mixed message, and it reinforces the poisonous idea that you guys are all free-ass kindergardners and I am your fucking nanny. You must be
more
vigilant than me and know when to hold back.
This is an interesting discussion and I'd like to see it continue here.
Best,
Ron
