Could you say a little more about the project, and your company (if it's a company)?

shays

Sure.

About the project.  This is a new Intellectual Property for multiple media outlets including books, comics, rpgs, games, and movies.  Currently there is a Graphic Novel Series in production with the first issue due out early next year.  There is a great writer and artist on that side of the project.  Additionally there are about 5 other artists working on concept art to flesh out the IP.  I can give more detail under a Non Disclosure Agreement.

About the company.  Well its really just me other than the contracts I have going.  Currently total number of concept artists as I said above are 6 and total number or writers 2.

Clay

We're looking pretty thin on the whole creator owned front here.  Especially with the NDAs.

yea.  Unfortunately our world as it is today you almost can't develope anything without it anymore even if you plan to open part of it (the mechanics) up to the general public.

Shays,

What Clay was getting at is that The Forge is dedicated to creator-owned RPG development. Speaking only for myself, your explanation tells me nothing, except that what you're looking for doesn't fall under that definition. If you're not getting what you want from this post, you may have better luck at a forum like RPG.net, or contacting designers that you know you like directly.

Good luck.

Ever walk into a meeting of sorts under or over dressed.  You know that sheepish feeling, yeah i kinda feel like that right now.

Anyhow to better explain myself the NDA is to protect the Intellectual Property I have created as far as art, story, and writing concepts.  If I understand correctly RPG mechanics in and of themself are almost non-marketable and thats why they are essentially given away today.  Just to clarify I don't want to take credit for someone elses genius in creating RPG mechanics.
I will take your suggestion and post over at rpg.net but I still extend the invitation to those who have expressed interest and those who may have some interest still.

Cheers

Ron Edwards

Hey,

While all of the above is true - the topic ain't for the Forge - there's no reason to turn this into a shame-party.

Shays, what you're saying about intellectual property is fine and all, but IP issues presume lack of creator control over the management and profits of their ideas. So what we do here is basically make IP irrelevant; I don't need a contract with myself.

Anyway, like I say, no blood, no foul. I'll look forward to your next thread about something that's all Forge-like, in terms of topic, and this thread can finish up now.

Best, Ron
