So, uh... this whole thing sort of died, huh.

Oh well. :(

Filip Luszczyk

So it seems. I PM-ed Tony a week ago about that, but I didn't receive any answer.

DocMMedia

<sigh>

There's some really cool submissions...it'd be a shame for this to just get dropped. Besides...I really liked our game. I'd like to see what others thought. It'd be great to have some closure on this. Thoughts anyone? I don't suppose anyone would be interested in "helping" Tony coordinate the voting?

Kesher

Even without voting, I think it'd be great to actually compile all of the submissions into a single, free pdf (I say this not knowing how to do that...)  I'll shortly have space on a server to store it, if someone can knit them all together.

Aaron

iago

I'd be game to at least assemble the combined PDF.  I'm proud of my entry.

Ken

I'm a little lost with actually making a website, but I have been using Yahoo Groups. I can make a group with links to the various pdfs, and set up a series of polls (one for each category of the competition). If this sounds interesting, let me know, and we can hammer out the details. Been looking forward to this for a long time, and had to put some of my life on hold to meet the competition deadline (the first one, not the second one). Anyway, I'd like to see this happen, and would be happy to help facilitate that.

Just let me know,
Ken

Go Ken and Iago! Sounds good to me on both accounts.

iago

To do it, I'll need everyone who competed to send me links to their PDFs (or the PDFs themselves) at iago AT iago DOT net.  The subject line should make it clear why you're sending it, i.e., "Compact RPG Compliation Submission" or the like.  I'm on vacation starting Friday, so this may be something that will actually get compiled/provided in two-three weeks total.

Ken

OK.

For the sake of following through, lets do this. I will need everyone who wants to participate to email me the link to their PDF by Friday: smacklord2001@yahoo.com. I will be winging this; I'm not exactly sure how this is going to work, but I think I've got a good idea. Anyway, it should be close enough and give us all a chance to showcase our work. Voters and visitors will need to set up a yahoo groups account to get to the page. I will have all the details on the main page.

Send me the game name, and a brief discription of your entry. I'll also want your proper name and anything else you want to include (company name, etc.).

Get those entries in,
Ken

Hey Everybody,

Just one quick point of clarification: since I didn't initiate this challenge, I don't feel compfortable just swiping links already posted to this group. So, only newly submitted games are going to be included in the challenge. I'm already working on the listing, and posting new links as they come in. I'd like to have most of it by this weekend, because setting up the polls will be a chore. Anyway, I'm happy to help get this thing going, and very excited to cast my votes (there is some great stuff out there).

Take care,
Ken

I've just sent you my entry, but if there are any problems with the mail, let me now.

I'd also suggest reconsideration of voting method. The one proposed by Tony:

Quote2. three votes per category, you may not put more than two on one single entry per category.

somehow seems rather strange to me. Shouldn't voting for only one entry in each category, or giving one entry 3 points, another 2 points and 1 point to the third game work better?

Ken

Hey everybody,

Very excited about getting this going. I will have more details on the format and voting later; right now I want to concentrate on ENTRIES. I IMed everyone who submitted an entry before to send me a link. I'm getting the impression now that my email is not working for everyone, so here are some alternative:

a) email me at smacklord2001@yahoo.com
b) IM me through the Forge
c) reply through this forum with the link to your entry

I'm not sure why my email is giving some of you trouble, but we'll adapt, move on, and get it done.

PS. Dave and Filip, since you guys have corresponded with me with interest in the contest, I've included your submissions alreday (if that is not cool, let me know).

Thanks all,
Ken

The system that we'll be using to vote will probably work better with the ONE VOTE PER PERSON PER CATEGORY method. While I like you staggered one-to-three system better, I don't want to commit to it, only to find out the system won't support it. Basically, there will be mulitple polls; one for each of the categories, with muliple choice answers (one selection for each game entered). I'll run the polls for a week or two, and then post the scores.

If anyone else has suggestions or insight, feel free to share,

Thanks,
Ken

That's perfectly cool with me, especially that I've just discovered that I had some problems with your e-mail.

Yeah, I sent out a lot of messages with the wrong email. The proper address is smacklord2001@yahoo.com. If anyone else has trouble getting me their link, just use this one.

Thanks,
Ken
