I have just posted the first session from the Game Design seminars at GenCon 2006 (in seven parts).  If you missed the sessions at GenCon here is your chance to check it out.  All the sessions where filled with useful information for anyone interested in publishing their own game.  The rest of the seminars will be posted in the coming two weeks.

Hi, Keith.

Thanks for doing all the video. If you need anything from me for the MLwM one, let me know.

I tried to watch the Robin Laws thing, but parts 2 and 3 were unavailable. Not sure if the error was on my end or Google's, and just wanted to make you aware of it.

It is my pleasure to get this stuff out there for follks.  Next year I am using a wireless mic rig though.  The sound was fucking terrible.

Thanks for the heads up Michael.  I did something stupid, but it is all fixed now.  The links from my site to Google should work fine now.  I'll let you know if I need anything for the MLwM stuff.

Very cool! I noticed you edited to keep the action focused on Ron and Vincent, which is cool.

Do you have the bits that I was in? I'd like them for my own use. At the beginning of part 3, it cuts out as I'm answering Ron's question and cuts back in when he's moved on. Is it an easy thing to make that bit available to me or is it a pain in the ass?

Adam,

Unfortunately it isn't that easy.  DV takes up a lot of space on the old hard drive so I delete shit after I am done with it so I can free up space at home.  Unfortunately I do not have daisy chained tera-drives in my home office like I have in my office.

The other problem is that the tapes suffered some damage.  All the tapes I used at GenCon.  One of the reason it took so long was I noticed the damage and didn't have the time post GenCon to really tackle it.

Hi Keith,

For us poor SOB's with dial-up could you do a transcript of the seminars?

Thanks, Keith

Keith,

Are you fucking kidding me?

If you want you can send me some blank DVDs plus postage and I will send you the files so you can write the transcript up.  PM me if you are serious and not fucking with me...

Here is the second part of the series:

Rain of Bastards

I kid cause I love, these two assholes I recorded talking about game design.  That's right Jared Sorensen "not Sorenson like the codec" and Luke "Wrath of" Crane give us 8 segments of material from GenCon 2006.  Watch and listen to these boys give general advice on game design as well as help a few folks go over their games.

Do-It-Yourself Game Design Seminars: Jared and Luke (An 8 Part Series)

Also in the interest of discussion, I was wondering, after viewing these, if folks would be more interested in a more structured format to these seminars.  I was thinking something along the lines of three sections (Lectre, Q&A, and Workshop).  I in fact repurpose stuff like this for doctors and we have found that to be the most effective way to get information out there in an organized and useful fashion.
