Hello all,

Just letting folks know that there will be some independent games being run at Apollocon here in the Bayou City There will be two slots so far, one for PTA and one for Polaris.

I am interested to know any tips for running PTA and Polaris. I am assuming right now that they will be 4 hour slot games, and am waiting to hear back from the organizers to confirm the timing and actual slots.

One thing I have been asked for is "thumbnail" for gaming programs and their websites. Anyone know if there is promotional material and standard blurb stuff that has been used successfully to attract folks to these two particular games? It would be appreciated.

Also on the first evening of the Con there will be a "demo" room for allowing people to try out games. Any suggestions for 15-20 minute demo's for Polaris, PTA, or InSpectres would be greatly appreciated. (these are the ones that I feel comfortable with from my own actual play).

I haven't been to Apollocon, but some folks in the indie meet-up group have. They have told me that it is primarly a sci-fi convention with some additional gaming, and therefore thought that it might be a good cross-over for "story-style" games.

Also, just letting folks know that I am trying to put a bit of an independent game community in SE Texas, where it seems to be lacking quite a bit. It would be great if those from Austin, San Antoine, or similar areas wanted to coordinate some more Independent Games. The organizer has told me that there is a comp for the con for anyone that runs two games.

Disclaimer - I am not affilated, nor organizing the Con, rather just trying to build up some indie-gaming presence by running a few indie-games at the Con. Please contact the link below for details of the con organizers. However, I am willing to do some grunt work for helping organize indie-presence at the game, and answer questions about logistics for Houston in general.
