I've given some thought to locking points today, and I think I'm going to allow it in the following sense, at least for playtesting purposes:

When the party (or a character) wins a major conflict, they can choose to lock in a point. They can only lock a point that represents their role in the conflict. Driving an army of Midnight creatures from the field could allow a character to lock in a point of Light, and closing a portal to other realms might allow a character to lock a point of Destiny. Similarly, when a character makes a major step towards accomplishing their destiny, they may lock a point of destiny.

The effectiveness of all powers will depend on the number of points in the associated balance, so a Daylight power will be much more effective if you have high Light, and so on.

I think the alignment is just about wrapped up. I'll put something up about powers and get experience worked out next, and then it will be playtesting time!
