I think what you want to look at is managaging, via rules and procedure, what people can contribute at once, pacing it out. If it's paced out, if it would violate the package/break suspension of disbelief, before it's fully introduced to the shared imagined space, it can be identified early on if it will break the package. Or does that not seem applicable at all?
