You could always make the rewards 'cash out' instead of tying back into the games currency. Like you have candy in a bowl and they get that as this reward. No, the candy doesn't tie back into the game - they just get to eat it.

I like the candy idea better than who gets to participate, But from that I got the idea that narration rights might be tied to difficulty. The easy rolls are narrated by the GM with whatever they feel like adding but the difficult rolls you get to narrate yourself making your character look super badass even if you choke the roll.
