Nicely stated, Nip. I think you've summed up some crucial points in that post, especially if we focus on the most historically-common forms of Gamism and Simulationism in role-playing.

Side note: any chance you'd be willing to share your real name, or first name? I'm having a hard time with your handle (or anyone's really). It's a personal thing, not a Moderator one, so feel free to refuse.
