Other than Silver what are other book that mention trade-offs between differnt weapons (other than katana vs longsword vs rapier)?

I can't think of any really quality sources off the top of my head...but I'll be working on it, I think.

Ah, wait, Musashi's book of Five Rings mentions some of that sort of thing...

Depending on the tranlation of Book of 5 Rings, you get a variety of detail and commentary.  He briefly mentions the use of a longsword compared to shortsword, spear, etc. and a few of the styles.  As a book on fighting and the spirit of combat, it's unparalleled.  As a technical manual, it doesn't really explain much of his techniques.

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming's Ancient Chinese Weapons: A Martial Artist's guide, gives some details as to the differences in use of weapons and a massive array of illustrations and names of a variety of weapons.

Other than that, I can't think of anything that really does a comparitive weapon study in print.  Anyone else got some sources?
