Hey everyone,
It's the holiday season, and hopefully, if you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Chanukah, or anything else that comes this time of year, you've got that holiday spirit.
The Forge, which is funded by me, needs a little Christmas gift. I hate mentioning that, but I'll be honest - in wintery Seattle, there aren't any jobs, which means your friendly neighborhood Forge administrator is looking at that account balance and thinking, "Man, this month's $40 payment is going to hurt, and next month's will too."
I'm not hitting up the membership for free money, though - that
Support The Forge
link is pretty visible if you want to do that sort of thing. I am announcing that from now until Jan. 1, every game bought from
Anvilwerks
will result in a 100% donation to the Forge. If you buy Donjon, Paladin, or Urge, all proceeds will go straight to paying server bills. They might make great gifts for a friend or loved one. (If you mention the recipient in your comments, or send me an e-mail, I'll make sure they get the copy instead of you, and I can hold copies until Dec. 24th, allowing for that Christmas surprise.)
Thanks for listening to this shill. It's not something I like to do, and luckily, since our membership is such a good crowd, it's not something I usually have to do.
Best wishes for this season,
Clinton R. Nixon

Shoot. Shill away. There's absolutely no reason for you to have to front this cost yourself.
If the top 40 posters each sent you $12 you'd be set for a year. That's hardly to much to expect, I'll go send mine right now. So should everyone else.
The 40th ranked poster has 252 posts, thats less than $0.05 per post.

Ah, thanks for reminding me that I'd just transferred some $$$ into PayPal, specifically for Donjon. And hey! the transfer has gone through.
I'll see if I can figure out which of my gaming friends/family might need a copy of their own, too.

That's ok, its less than $0.01 per post for me :-)
Course that durned Mike Holmes got more than you and me combined.
Seriously though, I think those of us who use the Forge regularly and get the most out of it should be showering some holiday goodness at our stalwart moderator/admin for his yeoman efforts. Especially those of us (like me) who've been lax about it in the past.

And has already demonstrated his appreciation, thankyouverymuch. :-)
I feel like were doing a PBS pledge drive.

Heh. But unlike PBS it's easy to ignore this thread if you want to. Ironically, this made me cave in and contribute to Clinton when I've never pledged to PBS (or anything related) anytime in recent memory, despite listening to NPR on the way to and from work constantly...

Y'know, Clinton, an idea hits me. Could there be a level of contribution (or is there already) where a person gets a Forge T-shirt with their donation? That would be cool.
It'd finally give me an excuse to get one. :-)
