Will the Forge have a table or set of tables at genCon and.or Origins in 2003?

If so, I would like to participate and wonder who I should send money to and when?

Hi Michael,

I don't plan to be at Origins in 2003, but if Forge folks want to get together on a table there, they can ... however, I think that both play and sales are typically slow at that convention, and that a publisher should only attend it if they are very sure that they have a draw (e.g. The Riddle of Steel, last year), have an Award nomination (e.g. Little Fears), or have worked out any other sort of deal.

As for GenCon, though - you bet! I very much want to set up a similar arrangement as last year's. However, I need to make a couple of things clear.

1) There officially isn't any such thing as a "Forge booth." The Forge isn't a company or organization. The GenCon space will be a multiple-booth combination paid for by Adept Press and others, with a whole bunch of friends/guests.

2) Just how this will be organized this year will be worked out by the various "core" payers during January; I hope to present the details of how other publishers participate by the end of the month. It should be very similar to last year, although not identical - essentially, a "guest" publisher is paying for an exhibitor badge as well as helping to defray booth costs by a small amount.

Best,
Ron

After all the fun we had last year, I'll just have to come this year again! Yay!

It's time to see about reserving that booth at GenCon. I wish there were some sort of sign-up somewhere where companies could commit to taking part (and send money to back it up) and then Ron (or whoever takes charge) could buy the space and badges. How long would this take?

Let me say that as soon as I'm paid for the books I';ve already sold I'm sending some money to Ron if he'll let me (at least the $55 for my badge and whatever the charge for my table space is).

I'll have some exciting products to sell -- well, at least exciting to HeartQuest fans. And Fuzz: the Furry Police RPG might even be ready by then if I can get off my butt and write the bloody thing.
