Rates for Black & White Science Fiction Line Art?

Hey All,

As points of reference, I wanted to know how much artists charge or publishers offer for 5 x 5” and 6 x 9” Black & White Line Art of Science Fiction artwork?

Are there different rates for figure(s), vehicles, etc.?

There are as many different asnwers to that question as there are publishers. Publishers will generally offer whatever they can get for as little as reasonable, while artists want as much as they can get.

It generally has to be negotiated depanding on how interested the artist is in the projects, how good he is, how much money the company has to spend on art, and how good at negotiation both sides are.
