Simultaneous post there, Grant.  Just to address your points briefly:

As far as the Narrative vs. Old-school simminess of it...I guess you're referring mostly to the distribution of Narrative Points right?  I definitely want to move away from that latter style (at least as you describe it), and I think my most recent change to put the gaining of NPs in the middle of the game, and also under the player's control, should help to do that.  Was that what you meant?

I also realize that examples are sorely needed given the vague nature of it all.  I have some quick ones for character creation and conflict resolution that I cooked up, and I'll post that.  I'll try to work on my example that begins at the beginning.
