Well I am not insane. While thinking on my Wuxia TROS, this idea hit me like a Dopplehander.

TROS Supers. I have always been a fan of the gritty...and a gritty super game would be fun. TROS could work well since it is a fairly gritty game.

I thought of these Priority Categories: Powers, Skills, Proficiency, Social Class, Gifts/Flaws, and Attributes. There is no race category, as there are only humans in this story.

Then my wife though of something cool, what if they were supers in a medieval setting...It would be cool. They would have to live these concealed lives, as they would be branded a witch, much like sorcerers in standard TROS.

Now, some of you might say, why not just run TROS with all players having sorcery or something like that. Well that is not what I am trying to go for here. I am trying to simulate the powers of supers and what not...the medieval setting aspect is just secondary (and easier so I don't have to make up modern equipment).

Anywa-thoughts, ideas, suggestions (especially on powers-and yes before anyone asks-I have lots of Superhero RPGs and no I don't want to use them :) )

The Riddle of Steel is that you are the weapon.  Swords, Magic, these are only tools.  Your most powerful weapon is the one between your ears.  When you embrace this, you will be invincible.

Shadeling,

You might find that normal TROS characters can work with superhero tropes quite well. I've been running a TROS game set in Xanarium inspired by Batman, Frank Miller's Sin City, and other dark superhero influences. The characters are normal people, but we've got one senator who stalks the streets in a cape at night fighting crime (Batman, anyone?), a P.I. from Dardanet in a fez, and a framed man fighting for his life. Some of the NPCs are a ninja prostitute (really), basically Commissioner Gordon from Batman, and the vengeance-seeking favorite concubine of the Sultan of Otamarluk and her savage protector, Akhbar.

With a few bonus priorities at character creation, and a few rules tweaks (lower falling damage dramatically, so people can leap from rooftops), you've got a low-powered supers game looking at you.

Sounds like an interesting way to add something extra to your gameplay! BUT, would you treat the powers like casting magic?

Not necessarily what I was going for...didn't know what to do actually.

I think that an unlimited power would unbalance the play in ROS... ?

I never said unlimited power-but I would want powers to work like they do in comics.
