Hey All,

Well second post, and second question.... I suppose I could read and catch up on all the posts, but I would have to isolate myself from the outside world, and set an appointment to see an eye doctor..

-Anyway-

I was wondering if I could get info on GenCon. I've heard about it before, but never really had the time to look into it. If there is a site I could just go to, or if someone would be ever so kind as to give me the info themselvs that would be great.

On a reflective note; it's kind of sad that I should know what GenCon is  considering my Role Playing Habbits, however due to lack of rescorces and time, I never got more into the RPG scociety then weekend role playing/development (although those that know me consider me an extreme gammer).

Anyway it's 4 in the AM so please excuse my sentence structuring and lack of grammer/spelling.

Well I hope to become a more active member in the Inde scociety, so any instruction/advice would be appreciated.

Does anyone know anything about GenCon SoCal?  They have a poll here asking for desired location and date: http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=socal

(I voted for Anaheim in December.)

Are RPG publishers planning on going to both GenCons or just one?

If I go to GenCon SoCal, which looks unlikely, I'll be going as a gamer. I doubt I can generate enough sales there to make back the considerable costs of going down to SoCal for a first year convention.

Then agaian, I am on the West Coast. Hmm....

But isn't Southern California the anime capital of the U.S.?  It seems to me like you stand to make the most there!

I might, but having no idea when or where it will be and what kind of presence I can mount, it will be impossible to plan for until more information comes in.

Not that I wouldn't love to go to SoCal, but it's almost as far as Indy and frightfully inconvenient. There is also the fact that it is still a first-year con and I have no idea how many people will actually show up for it.

Besides, I REALLY wanted it in Seattle.

Gen Con has announced that their Southern California event is back on for 2003.

Confirmed dates are December 11-14, in Anaheim, CA, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

I may have recovered financially sufficiently from Indy GenCon that I can actually go. Does anyone know of any booth-sharing arrangements that are being planned for the SoCal GenCon?

I agree that Southern California, with all its anime fans, would be a great place to sell the HeartQuest line. I'm sure there will be no shortage of companies wanting a presence, either. I might even be able to help out.

This is starting to look pretty interesting. Two GenCons?

Michael,

With the stern warning that my financial situation could change this, I'll be handling the SoCal Anvilwerks/indie booth.

Hopefully we'll learn a bit more about GenCon SoCal with Peter Adkison at Game Storm.
