i always wanted to buy swords and knives off of that one channel.... it isnt qvc, i think its the "home shopping channel"
they got this crazy raspy sounded guy on there... usually has a large collection of blades and says "you can get these individually for 14.99"....
its kinda goofy, but does make me wanna buy...lol, i dont though, i have a weapons dealer here in town......well sorta weapons.....they are, but its more of a new age store, is called appropriately enough, "The Cool Store"

Actually it is not Home Shopping Network. The Knife show you are speaking about Prophet is Shop At Home TV. Here is the link to their knife and sword section on their website:

Gotta agree with Jake. I would not spend 35G on that. You can get 10 pretty good replicas for that price, or even three or four genuine articles in decent shape for that matter, at the right place, of course.
I don't even like how it looks. To me the beauty of a blade is in its function.

Hell, you can get Del Tins for $400-600 all day long.
Even the Conan Sword (a hand-crafted copy of the swords from the movies, complete with the engraving, etc) run less than $3k each.
And since when, outside of Hollywood, do sniper rifles 'take down'? And why would you want a sword that does?

I think it's kind of ugly. Plus with that hand guard/blade, I can see someone taking a chunk out of his own face when parrying his opponent's blade (better wear armor when you use this blade).
I don't know what the big deal about titanium is--I mean, isn't there a better way to reduce you encumberance :)

Umm... Accuraccy International offers a "PM Covert" suppressed rifle in 7.62x51mm that can be operational in under 20 seconds from case open. And Knights Armamant has a Suppressed Revolver Rifle that takes down as well.
BUT...
The really cool one I saw was the CETME AMELI LMG that can be broken down concealed in a slightly extended briefcase and trucked around without too much trouble. When you need it you can go from case open to ready to rumble with 100rds of Disintegrating Linked Belt in 30 seconds or less.
Sorry, off topic, but I had to share!
As for the sword, man, you got me.

Agreed: it's a total rip-off, and anyone would be foolish, or willingly throwing money away, to buy such a thing. The titanium bit is especially stupid: not only does titatnium not hold an edge, but it's also especially hard (compared with steel) by mass, not volume. Non-corrosuvity is nice I suppose, but why not just get stainless steel? (Not that you'd really want it either.) Who needs a sword that comes apart anyway?

I also subscribe to a site called SFI they talk about swords and the like over there. They had an article that indicated that a Titanium sword has greater strength by weight, but to get a similar strength to steel the titanium sword would look like a two by four!
So I am thinking this Titanium Alloy may not be the best way to go. From what I understand there is a lot of ways around this, but from what I can see none of them replace a good piece of forged metal.
