It seems to me Pirates wouldn't have Awesomeness. Instead, they'd have Drunkenness, or maybe Licentiousness (but since that's too expensive a word for the game, maybe Horniness or Greed or something).

I really dig the base system for the game. Maybe you could expand it into a broader game? Make it a class-based system, and describe how to determine Awesomeness-equivalent bases for whatever theme you want.

Frex, I'd like to to pit Godzilla (with Mostrousness and Monstrousernesses) against an Alien (with Sliminess and Slimiernesses, or maybe Pokierness, or Acidness, or something). Expand it out, write it up, and I'd pay for it!

I think awesomeness would translate just as well for some other genres. I dunno about anyone else, but I think giant monsters, time-travelling robotic assassins and deadly aliens with acid for blood are all awesome. Pork chops taste good. Bacon tastes good.

We're drifting away from the central premise here. Really, I didn't intent for this to be a Real Ultimate Power: The RPG type of thing, ok yeah something similar, but not that level of immaturity. I mean, that's fine, but if you want that just play d02: Know No Limit (secure wogan!). I intended it to be more like a system for playing games like Snow Crash (hiro is an honorary ninja because he's awesome) or l5r parodies.

So, I think I need to focus it to be a bit more central. The idea of multiple classes is good, but 3 or 4 should suffice. Maybe...

Ninja
(anything awesome, like Neo)
Awesomeness
Awesomernesses
Ninja Power Points
Doing Cool Stuff

Samurai
(anything serious, like the cops)
Seriousness
Really Serious Stuff
Stealing NPP
Exacting Vengeance

Mutant
(anything freaky, like Godzilla)
Freakyness
4th Dimensional Freakyness
Screwing Up Other Dudes
Scaring the Sh*t Out of Stuff

You know, like that

There you go! You've got to figure out something for pirates - unless they're Awesome, Gwen. Maybe some things that are Whack? You know, Whackness for the serial killer, or something. Or the drunken pirate.

Okay okay Ron, if you insist.

My input: It would be must easier to understand if the names weren't so close together.  It's hard to balance in the head, ya know?

It's easy. If two ninjas of equal awesomeness face each other, their tie is broken by the higher awesomerness. Brilliant! :P

Seriously though, the terms could use some tweaking for actual play.
