Jake,
Has Driftwood considered putting out TRoS as open gaming content? A system reference document would be pretty cool and allow the rest of us to develop RoS based content without ripping off your intellectual property.  What parts of TRoS would you consider to be closed content, not available for general use?

I believe he's going the "mini-supplements" route, like Sorcerer.  In other words, you show him what you got, and if he likes it, he'll let you publish it.  It was mentioned somewhere else recently.

That's right. I have no--I mean no--problem with people creating TROS stuff that doesn't give away any rules from the main book anywhere, though I like to know where it is for my own sake. Even if I hate it I won't tell you to drop it though.

If you want something that really uses TROS mechanics in-text then talk to me about it and write up a proposal or even a draft and then we'll move on. We can even charge for it. If you want to publish your own material in your own company with TROS mechanics, then we're talking a liscense fee or something. Call me if that's the case.

most excellent. I'm working on a TRoS conversion for my d20 campaign. The players insist on being able to use the d20 sheets, skills and much of the system tho, so I'm grafting TRoS onto D20 rather than converting.

I'll post the conversion document on the web as soon as it's in a reasonable state.
