Hi All. I just ordered the game earlier this week (and still haven't received it yet...darn darn darn darn darn darn!) and I was wondering how well suited would this game be to play is a a PBEM? Everyone I know are D&D3E fanatics and getting them to change may take time and until that happens I am sure I will need a fix, so to speak. hehe.

There are a few PBeM ROS games that I know of, and I think they play over at Indie Netgaming as well.
I don't see it as being any more difficult (or less difficult, though) to play over email or in a chatroom than any other RPG.
Over email, you would need to simplify combat though :-)

Thanx for the response. Here is another question. This is about OBAM. I am ordering it tomorrow or Saturday and was wondering about the PDF version. I am quite impatient (it's a curse I know.), but when I order it I will order both the PDF and the print version. My question though is this. How big is the PDF version (no matter I have cable internet and size really isn't important, just curious as to the size) and my second question is how long does it take for the download link to be active once I pay for it? I know these are all newbie questions and coming from a very inpatient fella, but if you could just humor me on this I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanx in advance
Mr. Grimm

No problems. Question away.
The download is available as soon as Jake authorises it - in most cases less than an hour, although he's at GenCon this weekend so you'll most likely have to wait until he gets back on Monday. Hmm.. I should have got him to give me access to set that up for folks actually, that was a bit shortsighted of us.
As for the size, err... it's about 21mb unpacked, but you download it zipped. I don't recall the exact size, but probably... 8mb? 9mb? Somewhere around there I guess. I don't recall how well PDF files compress.

Thanx once again.
No problems. HOPEFULLY I'll have The Riddle of Steel by tomorrow or Saturday. If I can trust the USPS. That should keep me busy for awhile.

Yes it will. Big meaty book, lots to read and absorb. If you really can't wait until your book arrives, have a monkey with the TROS Windows Combat Simulator from the webpage. Bits of it wont make sense until you have read the book, but it's fairly intuitive and a bit of fun to play with (if I do say so myself).
