Is leather armour flexible and "soft" in tRoS or more rigid?

Also, does "hard armour" refer to hard as in metal or hard as in rigid?[/list]

I classify "hard" as anything metal or rigid, but that's me.

I've always taken TRoS leather armor to be of the more rigid variety.  Soft, flexible leather, in my estimation, would only provide AV 1.

Oh, and for those interested, I've lumped the stiffened linen cuirass of a Greek hoplite in with this idea of "rigid" leather.
