As HeroQuest is the recipient of a seemingly unparalleled degree of enthusiam on The Forge (indeed, the only place it appears to hold greater esteem is on the various Glorantha-specific mailing lists), I thought it may interest fans of the game to consider GloranthaCon as another wonderful place to "get their game on". GloranthaCon 8 was held earlier this year in Toronto, Canada and, while attendance was not to the level of prior cons, it was the first in several years to feature a significant influx of new blood to the Glorantha Tribe. The featured LARP was "Birth of the Goddess", set in a Peloria under the turbulent rule of the iron-fisted Carmanians but full of hope... for the prophecies foretold the rise of a new Goddess, one who would bring freedom and a new way of life to all. There were seminars in great abundance, hosted by Greg Stafford, Sandy Petersen and others in the Glorantha Tribe. There were games both serious and silly, from the Heortling courtship drama "Everything is Thunder" to my own thoroughly tongue-in-beak "Heart of Duckness" (aka "The Road to Remakerela" and "Duck Tower Redux"). If anyone is interested in future GloranthaCons, by all means join the semi-official mailing list...
