An example of some exemplary Con support for indie demos

I pulled this report off of a mailing list I'm on.  I did not participate first hand in the event so can't really answer any questions.  But I was quite taken with the lengths that the Con promoters seem to have gone through to help out game companies...even the small ones...so I figured I'd post it here for some additional exposure [pun intended]

QuoteDouble Exposure did a superb job of hosting the convention (they run
Dreamation and DexCon).  Double Exposure puts the demos in a central atrium
surrounded by ballrooms.  Tournaments and such occur in the
ballrooms.  Moving between them, you walk past people like me doing demos
and pushing games.

DE gave me everything I asked for in a table: power for a laptop, wall for
putting up posters, double-size table to accommodate the AVT felt map - all
without any fuss.  They also kept demonstrators fed (for free!),
occasionally watched our tables so we could duck into the bathroom, and so
on.  Without treating it as anything unusual.

Their attitude is that without people making games and getting players
hooked on them, game conventions couldn't occur: no games, no players, no
convention.  Therefore, they work at making sure that the people who put on
games are supported, so we can be relaxed and happy and make sure the
players have a good time.

It's a great way to run a con.
