Problem with Private Messaging?

James West just sent me a note regarding a private message he received from me, but I did not send him a private message. Even more mystifying, he was replying to the message to say that it had been sent to him by mistake!
I wonder if there is some wire-crossing in the private message system.

It sure sounds like it. I will investigate.

For what it's worth, a few days ago I did get an emailed private message notification from The Forge, only to discover upon checking my inbox that there was actually no message. So I just assumed the sender had deleted it. But in retrospect, I guess that notification could have been part of this anomalous weirdness.

What Paul describes has happened to me a few times, but mostly a long time ago. It may be wonky, but that part at least isn't new.
