Bite attack DR is ST-3c fine...a little weak i think a punch does give ST-2..
anyway the:
"following a succesful bite the jaws begin to crush doing STb damage until the victim succeeds in a contest of ST."
in the same exchange or what?
please give me a break down how to handle it:

Do a St contest each exchange, not including the one the bite attack was done in.
OBAM has additional rules for animal attacks, including worrying bites and such.

in OBAM....puh! in a second i read it as:
"There will be new and expanded rules in TROB, so you will need to wait a couple of years to see them".
But thanks i will try finding those rules in the book.
BTW: why are OBAM not hardcover?

Argh forgot to ask.
Is the Bite profile in the Rulebook then changed from ST-3 to just ST?

I don't have my rulebook here, so I have to ask: what is the ST to TO ratio of the creatures you are looking at? For a human, ST-3c is probably pretty accurate bite damage, and for a serious predator, higher ST (relative to TO of its prey) is all that's required to make it work.
On a slightly different note: IIRC, the dragon (in the core rules) has a much higher ST than TO and would easily kill another dragon with the first successful attack every time (even if a bite deals ST-3c). Now this is not how I picture a fight between dragons, i.e. I would expect it to be a long and gruesome battle of attrition. I understand that the creatures in the core rules are just sketches to give GMs a general idea of how they could look like. But does OBAM deal with this in a different way (I haven't got it yet)?

Im asking becouse i had a few angry dogs attack my players, and it seemed that even angry war hounds could not do ANYTHING with the bite attack, but the crush attack worked fine, but in my exprience a decent rottweiler would do more damage even on the first "quick" bite.

Ouch! I won't ask....

Brian......does the first "quick impact" bit now do ST damage instead of ST-3? ie. the old bite stat in outdated?

Because it would be horribly expensive and financially risky with no real profitable return. Hard back books raise the price per book by about 200% in production, but you can't charge $75 and expect to sell any. I love hardback books, but we're *still* paying for the core rulebook's hard cover!

Brian L. Please give a ruling on what damage a bite attack gives on "impact" ST or ST-3???

In OBAM I made animal bite damage be equal to ST (it's on Page 27 for those who have the book). Yes, this is contrary to what's in the main rulebook, because IMO animal bites are more damaging that they would be at ST-3 (or, to put it another way, I would have had to give them rediculously high ST scores if I was leaving damage at ST-3).
