Danish Axe

Which weapon in the list best represents the 2 handed "danish axe" used by Saxons Danes & Norwegians?

The Poleaxe seems a bit long for it and the Hand axe used with 2 hands does not do it justice.

Actually, the poleaxe listed in TROS is described as being about 4 feet long - that, I believe, is just about right for a Danish axe. Most of the replicas I've seen range anywhere from 3 feet (a little short, if you ask me - probobly because many of these are not all that well researched or made) and, the longest replica I've seen, 4.5 feet (made by Arms and Armor, www.armor.com , which is a company that I've heard nothing but good things about, in terms of both quality and authenticity). Point being, I think the poleaxe entry would be just fine. Other people have had other ideas though, and have posted them before.

For my game (set in Savaxen) I use the poleaxe stats and profeciency for the great axe. This does not mean I think the weapons are anything alike in looks and application, but in terms of damage the stats in the book for poleaxe refelect the sort of damage I expect the great axe to do. I use the Poleaxe profiency becasue it is a better fit (for the player) than using mass and shield without the sheild. This is just my approach.
