ATN is, um, the DTN +1. The range is hand, unless you can think of a good way to get a kite shield out at good range, giving you a "short" range.

Damage is the same as a club - 1 or maybe -2 if you're bashing with the edge. -3 if you're hitting with the flat. It's the same as a dagger if you're using an umbo spike.

That's off the top of my head.

Jake

Thanks Jake that sounds fair.

I was also thinkin after seen several war movies, that that often run into each other trying to know the opponent off his feet, so they then can stab him, this is mostly in the big battle scenes.

I don't think the grapple seems to cover this "shoulder push" maybe you could help me help me. generaly i want this to be an offensive manouver, where all style can use it or something.

this could also be use full becouse, im very interested in Roman warfare, and they use the "push with shield, stab, push with shield, stab". maybe not to knock them down, but simply drive through them, always keeping the fighting close, so there short swords was most deadly, ie. fighting on there therms.

I could also use the "shoulder push" when engaged with full plate armour, then i think it would be fully realistic trying to knock him down, så that you can, bette hit him in a weal spot. (ie covered by that he get a reduced dicepool when lying down).

This manuover should not be really powerfull, but should be used in large pitched battles, where there not are much space, and finaly in a running charge a "should push" would be nice.

As the shield bash is used to knock the opponent off balance to gain an advantage is as much as it is used to knock someone over, I would see it used in a similar way to a "beat" attack, maybe using the DTN of 5 to make it more effective. Or use an ATN of 6, lowering/raising the ATN by 1 for every 2 points of advantage/disadvantage in strength the attacker has vs the defender. Maybe a knockdown roll as well, with a TN of 4- sucess margin ahieved by attacker.

I think that Turin's on to something. I would also add that the shield (unless it's a buckler) is probably not useable for the next exchange after a bash.

Duh! TN of 4 + sucess margin
(or TN of 6, Dice to roll reduced by 1 per success margin)
