Ok, I've established a PayPal Personal account, followed their instructions to set up a link...and nothing happened, basically.

I'm browsing PayPal's site right now, and thinking I might have needed to set up a Premier or Buisiness (sp?) account.

Still, I have -no- idea on how to recieve payment via PayPal for my RPG, and time is of the essence. Berin "Unclebear" Kinsman has agreed to plug my RPG on his site, Unclebear.com, on the 8th. I expect a (relatively) large amount of people to try to pay for the game (as in, more than the one person who tried just this week.)

Therefore, I need help quickly. Can anyone help me?

Check out the Help section at PayPal. It explains everything you need to know.

Er, well, what did you expect would happen?
Have you tried to pay yourself by clicking on the link you set up?

And no, you don't need a Premier or Business account, a Personal account works just fine (that's how I sell my PDFs).

Go to the blue "Merchants Tools" tab at the top of the page.

There are wizards there that will generate html code for different types of payment buttons that you can then copy and paste into your web site. Customer clicks on the button...paypal does the rest.

Couldn't be easier.

Hello,

When you set up your payment button, a little window appears that contains a bunch of funky looking HTML code. You should copy that code and paste it into a Notepad or similar file, and save it on your hard drive. Next, you include it into your website's code ... and voila, when you look at the actual page, it appears as a nifty "Buy Now" Paypal button like you see on all those other webpages.

Does that help? I'm not being snotty; this is exactly the way I needed it explained to me when I did it for the first time.

Best,
Ron

Ack!

I get "Error Detected...There was a problem with the decryption of your secure order. Please contact your merchant."

Since I -am- my merchant, what do I do?

I'm going through the help files as we speak.

Well, I have to call it a night. It's 11:27 here. I'll try and fix things tommorrow.

Again, thanks everybody for helping me on this.
