No, not the movie.
So, it's a fact of life here that the independent forums get less traffic than the Forge proper, with a couple notable high-profile exceptions, like TROS, HQ, and Adept Press (due primarily to a comparitively large, well-established fan base).
I've recently made a couple of announcements over in the SimplePhrase forum, and I'd like to draw the attention of the Forge proper to them, but I'm not certain of the best way to go about it.
I thought about posting in the Connections forum, but a post to the effect of "hey, go look at this thread" seems counter to the purpose of that forum. Same with Publishing, Indie Design, etc.
Thoughts?

Did you ever get a response about this, Ethan? I'd like to know the policy on it, because I see your point totally.
I think one safe way to do this is to "Christmas Tree Ornament" the announcement onto something else. That is, have some sort of connection to announce, like a need for playtesters, and then point to some discussion related to it in your forum, say, some particular feature that you're discussing that needs testing.
Get what I'm saying? It's definitely gauche (to say nothing of whether or not the mods will do anything about it), to spam other fora with vaguely hidden links to attract attention. But if you actually have something pertinent to your forum, then you should be able to accomplish what you're looking to do, I think.
Again, have you heard the official word on this through other channels?
Mike

No, no official word.
I see what you're saying, and I've seen the technique used a few times by others. I'll probably try to do something similar the next time I need to announce something.
