Hello,
I'm considering developing my very sketchy game design Zero at the Bone into a full-blown game for release next year.
To do this, I'm going to have to learn a lot more about life in middle and eastern Europe in the middle 1960s through the late 70s, about spy fiction of the LeCarre stripe, and about the Berlin Wall specifically. I have a good grasp of modern history as a foundation, but what I need are details, events, and concrete dangers.
Are there any Cold War buffs out there who can help me? I'll learn better through dialogue and specific text references than through running Google and flailing around.

I've also got some books at home and know a descent amount about the Cold War. My dad reads/read a ton about it and he sends me books when he is done with them.

An excellent reference book for all things spy-related is:
Spy Book: The Encyclopedia of Espionage
by Norman Polmar and Thomas B. Allen
It covers all eras and is full of all kinds of evocative, obscure entries.
